Authentication Overview
URLyte offers multiple authentication methods to provide a secure and convenient way for users to access their accounts. You can choose the method that works best for you based on your preferences and security requirements.
Currently, URLyte supports two primary authentication methods:
- Google Authentication - Sign in with your Google account
- Email with OTP - Receive a one-time password via email
Both methods provide secure access to your URLyte account without requiring you to remember a password.
Google Authentication
Google Authentication allows you to sign in to URLyte using your existing Google account. This method is quick, convenient, and eliminates the need to remember another password.
How to Sign In with Google
Benefits of Google Authentication
- No need to remember another password
- Enhanced security with Google's protection
- Quick and seamless sign-in process
- Option to use Google's two-factor authentication for added security
If you're already signed in to Google in your browser, you'll be able to access your URLyte account with just a few clicks, making it the fastest way to get started.
OTP-based Login
OTP (One-Time Password) login allows you to sign in using your email address without having to remember a password. Instead, a unique code is sent to your email each time you want to log in.
How to Sign In with Email OTP
Benefits of OTP Authentication
- No passwords to remember or manage
- Each login attempt requires a new code, enhancing security
- Works with any email address
- No need for a third-party authentication provider
Important Note
OTP codes are valid for 10 minutes after being sent. If you don't use the code within this time, you'll need to request a new one. For security reasons, we limit the number of OTP requests to 5 per hour.
Security Best Practices
While URLyte's authentication methods are designed to be secure, it's important to follow these best practices to ensure the safety of your account:
Keep your email secure
Since your email is the primary way to access your account, make sure your email account has a strong password and, if possible, two-factor authentication.
Don't share OTP codes
Never share your OTP codes with anyone, even if they claim to be from URLyte. Our support team will never ask for your OTP code.
Check for phishing attempts
Always verify that you're on the official URLyte website before entering your credentials. Check the URL in your browser's address bar to make sure it's correct.
Sign out on shared devices
If you access your URLyte account on a shared or public computer, always sign out when you're done to prevent unauthorized access.
Keep your devices secure
Ensure your devices have up-to-date security software and operating systems to protect against malware that could compromise your accounts.
By following these security best practices, you can help ensure that your URLyte account remains secure and protected from unauthorized access.
